Chairman’s Update
SHORT MAT BOWLING
After many delays we will introduce ‘Short Mat’ bowling from 10am on Tuesday 30th August. Arrangements have been made with the ‘Short Mat’ Association to carry out demonstrations during September with the possibility of an Open Competition, organised by the Association.
Simply book via or Bowlr or at the start simply turn up. Fees are as the same for Indoor Bowling
YOUNGSTERS BOWLING CLUB
Contrary to popular belief ‘Top Quality Bowling’ is for the young, recreational bowling is generally played by ‘Old f..to (like myself). Watch the Commonwealth Games.
The idea will be to give basic ‘Coaching Skills’ to start and as the bowlers improve their skills a league system will be operated with prizes
There will be no charge for the first 3 weeks and then £1.50 per session. Please advise your children, grandchildren etc.
Volunteers to assist myself would be most welcome
COMPETITIONS
It is with great pride that I can report various successes by our Members in National, County and District Competitions especially as many of our new bowlers have achieved early successes
The Club Competitions are underway with your Chairman yet to play, no issues for the engraver there! Remember to offer your opponent 3 dates and when agreed book via the Bowlr System
ENERGY
As we are all aware our energy bills have ‘Gone Through The Roof’ As individuals we are to receive a small amount of financial assistance. However, the Club receives none and therefore we need to extinguish lights and scoreboard when not in use.
EGM
The EGM was held on Monday 11th July.
The Accounts and situation were discussed and approved.
The appoint of a new Accounting System and Accountants were approved
The new Locker payment system was also approved
My thank go to Roger Stutchfield, Treasurer for all his hard work
